Back in motion.

We want to know why it hurts, not just relieve your symptoms. Recreational athletes, competitive athletes and anyone struggling with everyday aches are welcome.

Treatments

What we do on the table.

We use the techniques that fit your complaint and your training routine. Our goal is that you leave with less pain and concrete things to work on at home.

Maria Bartsota behandler en pasient

Therapeutic or relaxing treatment that releases muscle tension and improves circulation.

Trigger point therapy

Targeted pressure on tight muscle knots — effective for referred pain and local complaints.

Mobilisation and stretching

For the active body

We train ourselves. It shows in the treatment.

The clinic is built around understanding how load, stress and activity affect the body — whether it comes from training, work or everyday life. We combine hands-on experience with knowledge of load management, recovery and movement.

  • Runners, cyclists and athletes
  • Overuse injuries and inflammation
  • Stiffness, tension and everyday stress

The therapists

Meet the team.

Both trained at Institutt for Helhetsmedisin, but with different backgrounds. We like to hear what actually happened before we start working.

Truls Skarvøy

Massage and muscle therapist

Trained massage therapist from Institutt for Helhetsmedisin. An active runner myself, so I know how the body can react to tough weeks of training and work. I like to take some time to understand what triggered the complaint before I start the treatment.

Maria Bartsota

Massage and muscle therapist

Trained massage therapist from Institutt for Helhetsmedisin, with a bachelor in physical activity and nutrition from Høyskolen Kristiania. That background means I tend to ask about sleep, food and training volume — not just where it hurts.

How a session works

What a session looks like.

  1. Assessment

We talk first. What happened, how long it has been going on, and what you have already tried on your own.

  2. Treatment

We use what we think will work for you: massage, trigger point, mobilisation, or a mix.

  3. Plan forward

You leave with a couple of exercises or some load advice. Not a ten-page program, just something you will actually do.

Frequently asked

Things people ask.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No. You can book an appointment with us directly without a referral.

How long does a treatment last?

We offer treatments of 30 and 45 minutes. For your first consultation we recommend 45 minutes so there is time for a chat, assessment and treatment.

Is treatment covered by HELFO or insurance?

Treatment with a massage and muscle therapist is generally not covered by HELFO. Many private health insurance plans cover all or part of the cost — check with your insurer.

What is the difference between muscle therapy and physiotherapy?

We work primarily with muscles, connective tissue and mobility, and give concrete guidance on load and training. Physiotherapy is an authorised health profession with a broader scope, including rehabilitation after injuries and surgery.

What should I wear to the session?

Comfortable clothing is fine. When needed we ask you to undress to your underwear and we always cover with a towel.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment via the booking system or by phone.
